Steamboat Releases First Local 'Bike Guide'

The town of Steamboat has put together and released today a fantastic mountain biking guide to show off many of the trails, roads, and share information about biking around Steamboat.  The communities first bike guide, this is seen by many as an important step in pushing forward for the Bike Town USA Initiative that seeks to establish Steamboat Springs as a world-class cycling destination.  The 88-page guide is the product of a partnership of Leadership Steamboat, the Bike Town USA Initiative, the Steamboat Pilot & Today and Explore Steamboat.

Looking through the guide it looks to be a fantastic resource for all those unfamiliar with Steamboat's fantastic trail system and those who are there are some great tips and fun articles about biking in Steamboat.  Each of the trails featured lists out the best season for riding, the trail difficulty rating, total mileage, what you should know about the trail before you ride it, parking spots, a description and includes a map with elevation changes.  The groups are currently working on putting together an online option but until then the guides should be available to pick up at area lodging properties as well as all the local bike shops.
