Rainbow Weekend a Colorful Steamboat Tradition

In less than 24 hours our skies over Steamboat Springs Colorado will be filled with the colorful and creative hot air balloons. The 35th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo will once again be held at the Bald Eagle Lake, located just outside the city limits. One of our favorite events for the summer, this spectator friendly event can be view from just about anywhere around Steamboat Springs. Simply set your alarm for 6am, grab a chair and some coffee and look to the heavens or better yet, head down to the event and watch launch close up. You can get up close and personal with the pilots and who knows, you might even catch a ride.

After the balloons are launched head down to the 41st Annual Art in the Park. Over 140 vendors from across the country will be showcasing a variety of work. From glass blowers to photographers, there is something for everyone. Relax and spend the day watching live entertainment and let the kids play in the interactive art center.
