Moving to Steamboat Springs
When thinking about moving to Steamboat, understanding your family structure, goals, favorite activities and lifestyle are influential in deciding where to live in town. While a small town, Steamboat still has many locations and smaller communities within that are quite different. If you are a looking for an isolated location where you can get out of bed and walk to your own private fly fishing tail-waters you would probably be looking to live in a different area than a family of four who all love to mountain bike.
When thinking about living in Steamboat there are a few questions that seem to be asked frequently. What is summer like? How are the schools? What can I do to get involved with the community? And one of great things about Steamboat is that in addition to having a world class ski resort, Steamboat is a true community. The Steamboat Schools are excellent and there are many different options for high school education. Summers in Steamboat are often regarded by many as more beautiful than the winter. There are miles of trails to explore and the Yampa River is there to cool off each afternoon. There are also countless opportunities for community involvement for those interested. Volunteering at the library, the hospital, the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club or at the Botanic Park are all well touted and well-attended volunteer opportunities.
And this is only the beginning. Calendars will always be jammed full with activities, meetings and sports around town, dinners and volunteer projects, are only a few examples.
