The 2010 Steamboat Springs Parade of Homes, presented by Colorado Group Realty, will take place Saturday, August 7th. The self-guided tour from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. provides an opportunity to visit stunning mountain properties located in five different Steamboat neighborhoods. Tickets are $20 per person with proceeds benefiting the Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation.

Real Estate Sales in Steamboat Springs are continuing to improve compared to 2009 levels. We are seeing increases in both the volume and the units sold from 2009. We have now recorded 8th months in a row where sales volume has increased over the same month of the previous year. YTD sales volume is 252% of 2009 dollar volumes and 202% for units. This reflects a significant increase in higher end property sales. This is encouraging but challenges remain so it pays to look closely at any property and it's values as you consider a purchase.   I have personally seen a bigger increase in volumes and have had the chance to help multiple people secure strong values this year.   Most locals who hike Fish Creek Falls throughout the year don’t appreciate having to pay a parking fee and like taking the locals route, which is why they access the Fish Creek Falls trail from the Sanctuary. Drive up Fish Creek Falls Road and turn right onto Steamboat Boulevard. From Mt. Werner, turn onto Steamboat Boulevard heading towards the hospital and golf course. Follow the road and right at the bridge crossing the river is parking lot on the side of the road closest to the mountain. Park here and follow the wide trail upstream.

 I woke up early this morning and went out for a beautiful flight over Steamboat. We began flying North Routt and the Zirkels (picture below of the mountains) and got to see some of the snow that still remains up at higher elevations. Continuing on we flew back towards town, first over Rabbit Ears and then up toward Buff Pass.  The diverse terrain throughout the flight is one of my favorite things about Steamboat. Driving, or in this case flying, in any direction changes the scenery and activities that you can enjoy while in town.
